Barbershops
How to get more clients as a barber
Most chairs fill when last month's haircut comes back, when a regular sends his roommate, and when a quiet afternoon gets a short note. Copy the four habits below and use them this week — paper is fine.

A digital loyalty card at the chair is optional. The habits work without one.
Four things that fill a chair
The list
How to get more clients as a barber (use this week) 1. Rebook at the chair Before they stand up: "Same time in four weeks? I can hold Thursday at 2." If they can't pick a day: "I'll text you when you're about due." 2. Referral reward Write it in one sentence: "Send a new client, get $10 off your next cut" or "the 6th cut is on us." Stamp it. Don't keep it in your head. 3. Slow-day fill One line, one gap: "Chair open today till 4. Walk-ins welcome — reply YES and I'll hold you." Send it to people you already cut, not a rented audience. 4. Honest Google review ask After a visit they liked: "If you had a good cut, an honest Google review helps people find the chair. Here's the link: [your Google review link]. No pressure." Don't trade a discount for stars.
Example messages
Example messages (copy and fill in) Rebook You're about due. I have Tuesday 11:00 and Thursday 4:30. Which one? Review ask Glad the cut worked. If you want to leave an honest Google review, here's the link: [link]. Totally optional.
Helpful free resources
Official help pages you can use this week, whether or not you ever book a demo. Each opens in a new tab.
- Google Business Profile: review link and QR code (opens in a new tab)
On a computer, open your Business Profile → Read reviews → Get more reviews. Copy the link or save the QR for receipts and the desk. Don’t trade a discount for a star — Google treats that as fake engagement.
- Google Business Profile: tips to get more reviews (opens in a new tab)
Google’s own checklist for asking after a good visit. Use it with the review link above. Keep the ask optional and honest — no scripts that tell people what star rating to leave.
- Google Business Profile: posts (opens in a new tab)
Business Profile → Posts → Add post. Use Offer or Event for a weekday special so it can show on Search and Maps. Add a start and end date so it doesn’t sit there after the night is over.
- Booksy: appointment reminders (opens in a new tab)
Booksy sends a reminder 24 hours before the visit by text, at no cost to you. If the client booked in the Booksy app and is logged in, they get a push instead of a text.
- SCORE: free mentor (opens in a new tab)
SCORE mentoring is free for U.S. business owners. Enter your zip to request a mentor — they typically reply within 48 hours. Bring one question (slow Monday, rebooking, reviews) so the first hour is useful.
- Virginia SBDC: free advising near you (opens in a new tab)
No-cost, confidential advising for Virginia shop owners. The office list includes Greater Roanoke & NRV SBDC (Roanoke and the New River Valley, 540-632-1174). Book a session and bring the one problem you want help with — rebooking, a no-show rule, or a slow-night promo.
If you want it on their phone
A digital loyalty card for the shop
Same habits. The card sits in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. You stamp from your phone. Slow-day notes can hit the lock screen with no per-message text fee. Year one is $1,997, or $499 per quarter for year one (4 payments). Package shops renew at $149/month after year one and keep the top-tier features (normally $249/month). We'll have your card live in 3 business days.
- One scan at the chair or the desk
- Referral stamps you can actually keep track of
- A lock-screen note when the book has a hole
- Works alongside the register you already have
